Our Director's Message
At SparkSTEM Foundation, we firmly believe that talent is universal, yet opportunity is not. Regardless of their birthplace or the circumstances they face, every child deserves a chance to thrive, learn, and dream. Our mission is rooted in this simple yet profound truth. We are more than just a non-profit; it’s a movement of educators, technologists, and first-generation changemakers committed to empowering Africa’s most vulnerable children—street children and orphans who unfortunately reside in the bustling streets of so-called capital cities, yet without opportunities. These children are exposed to various vices, harms, and unimaginable challenges and without access to quality education or valuable hands-on skills training. Our hearts break at the sight of their suffering, prompting us to take up the challenge and make an impact, no matter how small. In response to this noble cause, SparkSTEM was born. We pooled our skills, ideas, knowledge, and personal funds to create a positive difference.
We are not merely constructing knowledge and practical skills; we are also fostering confidence, self-reliance, and innovative thinking. This holistic approach empowers society’s most vulnerable individuals to cultivate self-worth, resilience, and the unwavering belief that they have the potential, just like anyone, to become problem-solvers within their communities and nations. The skills set we impart, such as coding, are immediately applicable in the development of sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by their communities. A typical example of this is the development of sustainable waste management containers and access to agricultural tools and inputs through robotics and coding.
We are humbled to share that we’ve made meaningful progress. Currently, SparkSTEM is supporting the education of five street children and one orphan, all between the ages of 4 and 10. Reginald’s journey is just one inspiring example of the impact this initiative is making. However, our resources are limited, and to continue—and expand—this vital work, we humbly seek support from individuals, organizations, and groups who feel moved by this mission. With your generous contributions, we are confident that we can take this project even further, reaching more children and transforming more lives through education and opportunity.
Our five core initiatives encompass a range of programs aimed at empowering children and fostering their growth:
-Our Education Adoption Program, known as Adopt a Child, connects generous donors with individual children, providing them with the necessary resources and hope to pursue their education.
- In line with our vision for a sustainable and eco-friendly innovation hub, the Tech-Trek Center will serve as a safe space for children to explore coding, robotics, engineering, and creative problem-solving.
-To address the economic barriers that prevent many students from attending class, the Back-to-School Boost program equips underserved students with essential school supplies.
- Our Robotics and Coding classes offer practical and future-ready skills that transform curious minds into community-focused inventors.
- The Science Project Fair held once a year brings practical science to life through hands on experiments in basic biology, physics and chemistry including DNA extraction and PCR to foster a sense of discovery and curiosity among kids.
As the Director of SparkSTEM Foundation, I am constantly inspired and motivated by the courage and curiosity of the children we serve and the selfless support of my team. Their passion fuels our work, and their potential drives our mission. Together with our sponsors, volunteers, and supporters, we believe we are planting seeds of change that will grow for generations. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has extended their help so far. I want to thank the donors and sponsors who have supported us in the past and to those who will donate in the future. Special thanks also go to my executives for using their expertise and passion to help the foundation. Let us continue to build a future where education is a right, not a privilege, where innovation flourishes from every corner, and where every child has the tools to illuminate their world.

Our mission
SparkSTEM Foundation is committed to igniting curiosity and fostering a lifelong passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among children in primary and junior high schools in rural Africa. Through innovative educational programs and hands-on experiences, we aim to empower young minds, particularly those with limited access to quality education, to explore the wonders of STEM fields, unlock their potential, and become future leaders and innovators.
Our vision
Our vision is to create a world where every child has the opportunity to excel in STEM education and pursue rewarding careers in science, engineering, and technology. We envision a future where STEM literacy is widespread, barriers to education are dismantled, and young learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to address global challenges and drive positive change in their communities and beyond.
